Financial Assistance

The River Center provides aid to families and individuals experiencing financial hardship. You must be a resident of New Castle or Silt to apply for assistance with our nonprofit. For a list of other organizations in your area, please click here

Areas we assist include, but are not limited to:

  • Rent / Mortgage

  • Utilities (electricity, water, propane)

  • Vehicle repair

  • Medical / Dental

  • Food / Gas / Transportation

  • Clothing

  • Handyman

  • Mental / Behavioral visits 

How to apply

To request for assistance, kindly follow the steps outlined below and expect a call from a member of our staff within 24-48 hours.

To obtain an application for assistance, please stop by our office or click on the button towards the bottom of this section to print a copy. You must fill out the application in its entirety before submitting. Applications may be submitted through our secure online portal or by stopping by our office, Monday - Thursday, 9 am - 12 pm.

In person Interview

After we receive your completed application and supporting documents, a member of our staff will contact you to arrange an interview. During the interview, we will review your application and supporting documents, discuss any hardships you may be facing, and determine if we can release your information to other organizations or agencies for assistance, if needed. Please allow 24-48 hours after submitting paperwork for a call. 

Waiting Period

After completing all the aforementioned steps, your case will be presented to the committee will be reviewed for processing. Please note that it may take 2-10 business days to receive a response regarding the approval or denial of assistance.
